India-based company Wipro Limited, specialising in information technology, consulting and business process services, announced the creation of 500 jobs in Romania in its new Automotive Centres. Positions will be available for technology professionals and engineers, to work on telematics, in-vehicle infotainment, connected cars and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.
The company intends to develop its Romanian subsidiary as a strategic location from which to service clients across Europe. In the future, Wipro may transfer projects from India and the United States, to Romania.
Currently, Wipro has 1,700 employees in its centres in Bucharest and Timisoara, which service more than 30 clients in Europe across the industries of retail, consumer goods, medical services and telecom.
The company globally employs a workforce of about 160,000 people.Â
