Eurofound is inviting academic experts to put themselves forward to participate in the Advisory committees and join the meetings as full members to provide independent scientific advice. All interested parties are kindly invited to submit their applications.
Eurofound values the possibility of advice on its research; from the inception to the finalisation of its projects. It has four Advisory Committees with representatives from Eurofound’s Management Board. Each committee also includes two academic experts.
Advisory Committees support the implementation of Eurofound’s work programmes. Their purpose is to ensure the quality of Eurofound’s research by providing advice and new inputs.
The main functions of the Advisory Committees are:
Giving advice on the design and implementation of research projects
Monitoring progress of implementation
Evaluating findings
Advising on the dissemination of results

Extensive and well documented research expertise relevant to the respective activities and policy relevant topics per Advisory Committee – as described above under Scope
Experience of comparative research and working in European projects reflected in their list of publications
Excellent command of the English language
Experts will be appointed in their personal capacity. They should act independently and express their own professional views.
Eurofound applies a strict policy on conflict of interest. Appropriate measure will be applied to guarantee the independent execution of the expert role in the Advisory Committee.
A declaration of interests should be submitted to ensure full transparency when assessing your application.
External experts cannot be contractors of Eurofound or have direct links with contractors in the same activity and related policy topics when attending meetings of the Advisory Committee.
Should you be successful we expect the declaration to be regularly updated. It will allow us to take the appropriate measures.
The declarations of interests of nominated experts will be published on Eurofound’s website.
Nomination will be for the duration of the period 2026-2029 subject to mutual satisfaction and to any Management Board decisions about the number and scope of Advisory Committees.
Members of the Advisory Committees are not remunerated other than for travel and subsistence expenses according to the existing rules for reimbursement.

Following closure of the expression of interest, Eurofound will select for each Advisory Committee up to two experts based on the best match between CV and requested profile, using the following criteria:
Relevance to topics to be covered as indicated under ‘Scope’ above
Depth of experience
Eurofound shall strive to achieve a balance of experts in terms of gender and Member State. It is expected that the new academic experts will participate in the meeting scheduled for March 2026 (10-11 March on Working Conditions; 11-12 March on Industrial Relations; 12-13 March on Employment and Labour Markets; 12-13 March on Living Conditions, Social Cohesion and Convergence), and further semi-annual meetings – usually in March and September.
All candidates will be informed about the outcome in February 2026.
