On Thursday 11 May 2023 from 12:30 - 14:30, Eurofound organised, together with the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs, its inaugural annual in-person lecture Living and working in Europe - Ireland at EU50, in Dublin.
Hosted by Ivailo Kalfin, Executive Director of Eurofound and Peter Burke TD, Irish Minister of State for European Affairs and Defence, this lunchtime event (by invitation only) was an opportunity to present Eurofound’s findings on Living and working in Europe as well as marking Europe Day 2023 and Ireland’s 50 years of EU membership.
Following Minister Peter Burke’s TD opening remarks, Ivailo Kalfin, Executive Director of Eurofound introduced the latest findings on Living and working in Europe. This provided the most up-to-date setting for Professor Brigid Laffan, Emeritus Professor at the European University Institute to reflect on the challenges and opportunities that currently face the European Union, with a particular spotlight on Ireland. The in-person event also allowed guests to participate in a short, moderated questions and answers session with Professor Laffan.
