Event background

Ireland’s Minister for Social Protection, Dara Calleary TD, will chair the meeting.

The informal meeting will bring together ministers from the EU Member States, representatives of the European Commission and invited participants, including European social partners, to discuss shared employment and social policy priorities across the European Union.

Ivailo Kalfin, Eurofound’s Executive Director will take part and present at the informal meeting on the topic of addressing the disability employment gap for a more inclusive and competitive EU.  Eurofound has also prepared a Background Paper which has been circulated to participants in advance of the informal meeting.

The informal format of the meeting will facilitate strategic dialogue and the exchange of perspectives ahead of formal EPSCO Council meetings in October and December.
