Building on the success of previous years, Eurofound is once again proud to participate in Open House Dublin in a collaboration with the Irish Architecture Foundation and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. On Saturday, 17 October 2026, Eurofound opens its doors to the public for free architecture-led guided tours of Loughlinstown House, the conference centre and the exterior of the main office building.

Event background

Loughlinstown House is one of the oldest and largest surviving Georgian houses in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown and of considerable architectural interest. It is home to Eurofound – European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions – the only EU agency based in Ireland. In 2026, Ireland holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and Eurofound is supporting the Irish Presidency’s work by contributing its research and expertise on employment, social and work-related policies, as well as by hosting a range of Presidency meetings and events here at Loughlinstown House.  

Tours of Eurofound take place on the hour, starting at 10.00 with the last tour at 15.00. Each tour will last approximately 35-45 minutes. Pre-booking is essential as places are limited.

Open House Dublinopens in new tab is part of a wider EU project, Open House Europe, a cooperation initiative connecting different Open House festival organisers across Europe, and enabling collaboration and knowledge exchange. The project encourages people to discover and engage with the architecture and places around them, helping to deepen our understanding of the environments in which we live and work. For 2026, the theme is People, Place, Perspectives. Open House Dublin 2026 is also an associated Presidency event, as part of Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
