Transport and logistics sector: Padborg cluster, Denmark

Padborg is located in Jutland in southern Denmark at the border with Germany. It is one of the largest transport hubs in Denmark, both in terms of volume and value. About 200 transport companies and service-related enterprises occupy a 5km2 area in Padborg beside the European motorway E45 – the main traffic corridor between the Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden) and the rest of Europe. The companies of the Padborg transport cluster have gone through a continuous process of change, by adapting their businesses to new technologies, infrastructure development and their customers’ needs.
