Event background

Led by Li Andersson MEP, Chair of the EMPL Committee, the delegation brought together senior MEPs from across political groups, highlighting the importance of Eurofound’s work for EU employment and social policymaking. 

Discussions covered the future of work, including working conditions, quality jobs, skills and training, AI at the workplace, new ways of working, psychosocial risks and key sectoral challenges. The programme also highlighted Eurofound’s monitoring tools and their role in supporting evidence-based policymaking, alongside discussions on restructuring, minimum wage, pay transparency, as well as quality of life and living conditions, including the EU strategy for the rights of persons with disabilities and the Child Guarantee. 

After Eurofound, the EMPL Committee continued its programme in Dublin, to meet Irish Government colleagues ahead of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU. The delegation was accompanied by Jack Maloney from the European Parliament Liaison Office (EPLO) in Dublin.
