The Swedish Presidency of the EU organised a conference on the different aspects of social inclusion and access to adequate housing, with a focus on child rights issues and the European Child Guarantee, rights of people with disabilities, and access to permanent housing for women and children who have been subjected to violence.

The aim of the conference was to highlight different aspects related to social inclusion and access to adequate housing and to foster a discussion on common challenges and possible solutions with an exchange experience and best practice among EU Member States, EU institutions and civil society.

Following a presentation by the European Commission, Eurofound’s Massimiliano Mascherini, Head of Social Policies unit, introduced the theme of the conference by presenting an overview of Eurofound’s latest findings on housing, including issues linked to housing exclusion and homeless people, housing insecurity, housing costs and highlighting the situation of vulnerable groups.
