Eighth meeting of Eurofound’s Management Board

Jerzy Ciechański was elected Chair of Eurofound’s Management Board at the Agency’s annual Management Board meeting in Dublin on Friday, 22 November 2024. He takes over from outgoing chair Stefania Rossi, Senior Advisor at General Confederation of Italian Industry (Confindustria). Mr Ciechański represents the governments’ group in Eurofound’s tripartite management structure.

Three Vice Chairpersons were also elected: Salvatore Marra, Head of European and International policies, General Italian Labour Confederation (Confederazione Generale Italiana del Lavoro), Stefania Rossi, (Confindustria); and Barbara Kauffmann, DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, European Commission.

The tripartite Group meetings with representatives from governments, employer organisations and trade unions from the 27 EU Member States took place on 21 November 2024. Prior to the parallel meetings, Executive Director Ivailo Kalfin opened the event, followed by a short presentation from the Deputy Director Maria Jepsen on the Programming Document. Board Members were also privy to topical presentations on key areas including AI and the workplace, Role of human capital inequalities in social cohesion and convergence, Employment in EU’s automotive sector and Communicating Eurofound into the next programme from Eurofound experts.

The regulatory plenary meeting took place on Friday 22 November 2024, where the tripartite Board Members were joined by representatives from the European Commission as well as participation from the independent observer from the European Parliament and observers from EFTA and sister Agencies, to approve, among other decisions, Eurofound’s work programme for 2025.
