The European Federation for Services to Individuals (EFSI) is co-organising, with the Consultative Commission on Industrial Change (CCMI) of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), the 6th edition of the European Conference on personal and household services (PHS) in Brussels on 7 November 2014.

To mark the Year of Reconciling Work and Family Life in Europe as well as the 20th anniversary of the International Year of the Family, this year the debate will focus on the issue of work-life balance.

The conference will bring together experts as well as company, union and EU representatives to discuss the contribution of personal and household services to women participation to the labour market as well as to workers’ retention and satisfaction.

The event will also address the impacts of recession and austerity on the provision of personal and household services and on work-life balance measures.

Eurofound contribution:

Robert Anderson, Head of the Living Conditions and Quality of Life Unit, will represent Eurofound at the conference.
