11 September 2006 - 14 September 2006
Event background
14th World Congress of the International Industrial Relations Association (IIRA)
11-14 September 2006, University of Lima, Lima, Peru
Background of the project
As a corporate member of IIRA, the Foundation has participated in previous European and World Congresses, contributing actively to the debate at conference sessions and events.
This year the Foundation has organised two seminars:
12 September - Industrial relations, future trends and challenges of globalisation (15.30-18.30)
The purpose of this seminar is to discuss and produce “Industrial Relations Country Profiles” for Australia, Brazil, China, India, Japan, South Africa and US, following a similar process aimed at producing country profiles for the 25 EU countries. The seminar will benchmark European industrial relations against industrial relations models in other countries.
Note: a programme with speakers presentations is available.
13 September - Internationalisation of industrial relations at global company level (15.30-18.30)
The objective of this second seminar is to discuss the impact on industrial relations of internationalisation of economic activities at a global scale. The globalisation process is illustrated through examples of globalised financial markets, increasing foreign investments in companies and development of transnational companies. This process has great implications on the industrial relations systems and on work force management. The seminar will address these topics from the point of view of management and unions representatives as well as international experts.
Note: a programme with speakers presentations is available.
NEW Company cases and filmed interviews are now available for download on the website of the Fondazione Istituto per il Lavoro.
Congress participants are invited to visit the Foundation information stand.
More information on the event can be found on the IIRA conference website.
