The 5th World pension summit - Financing pensions will take place at Louwman Museum, The Hague on 5-6 November 2014.
With people living longer, the relative and absolute number of retirees is growing while the contribution to pension funds is declining. It is a challenge for all pension stakeholders to secure an adequate pension provision. There are new roles in structuring pensions, securing best practices and balancing risk-return and new responsibilities for the pension services industry, regulators, employers and employees, governments and above all citizens who should be more in control of their personal financial planning.
The event will address 'Financing pensions' as lead theme and will offer key analysis, insights and ample room for peer-to-peer discussion.
Eurofound contribution
Eurofound will play a leading role in the workshop on Sustainable and adequate pensions by keeping people longer in employment. Robert Anderson, Head of Eurofound’s Living Conditions and Quality of Life Unit will give a presentation on Stimulating longer working lives by taking measures before retirement, and talk about Facilitating income from work after retirement. He will also discuss retirees’ motivations for seeking paid work and their opportunities for gaining employment during slot B3, on November 5th.
