Event background

Drawing on the latest data from Eurofound’s European Working Conditions Telephone Survey, the expert briefing covers the working conditions of different groups of self-employed people. While most self-employed people enjoy good working conditions, autonomy and good earning potential, the policy debate at both EU and Member State level has increasingly focused on the most vulnerable, especially those finding themselves in false and bogus self-employment. The briefing looks at measures taken at the national level to better protect such workers against the risks of unemployment, workplace accidents and sickness. In particular, it looks at lessons learned from measures taken during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Join Eurofound’s employment experts Tina Weber and Dragos Adăscăliței to dig deep into the data, and engage in a lively Q&A to explore issues around job quality for the self-employed and measures that can be taken to protect them.
