The Foundation at Oslo Congress (25-29 June 2001)

The imminent introduction of the Euro and the planned enlargement of the EU may have a significant impact on industrial relations in Europe. Both developments have the potential to alter the context of national bargaining systems and could spur further Europeanisation of negotiation systems and of employment regulation.

These are some of the major trends identified in Foundation presentations at the sixth International Industrial Relations Association (IIRA) European Congress taking place in Oslo on 25-29 June. Following is a listing of Foundation presentations: please note that these are in unedited format.

  • Globalisation: a challenge and response of trade unions by Timo Kauppinen in Study Group 11, The Future of Trade Unionism, Friday 29 June
