Event background
Launch conference of the Network of European Cities for Local Integration Policies for Migrants (CLIP), 11 September 2006, Dublin, Ireland
Venue: Mansion House, Dawson St, Dublin 2
Background
The Foundation together with the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe and the City of Stuttgart are developing an innovative project on the integration of migrants and the role of local authorities in Europe. The activities foreseen in this initiative take place within the remit of a newly created network of cities (CLIP). In its initial phase, the network will consist of around 30 cities, both EU and non-EU.
Objectives
The project seeks to fill a gap in analysing and evaluating recent efforts by local authorities to co-ordinate and learn from each other. The outputs from the project will include
a portfolio/casebook of initiatives, and
guidelines for good practice
which will enable users to locate information and evaluate results of different measures for integration.
