The research project 'Long-term care strategies for independent living of elderly people (ICT-AGE)' is a project commissioned to the Institute for Prospective Studies of the Joint Research Centre (JRC-IPTS) by the Directorate General of Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL).

ICT-AGE aims to help DG EMPL to support the Member States to develop long-term care strategies that promotes the independent living of older adults at home through technology-based services. The project is one of the actions of the Social Investment Package (SIP) of the European Commission, which aims to help the Member States to implement the Country-Specific Recommendations of the European Semester for

This workshop aims at:

  • discussing and obtaining feedback from stakeholders to validate the findings of the first two deliverables of ICT-AGE: Mapping of effective technology-based services for independent living for elderly people at home and case studies of the technologies for independent living for elderly people

  • obtaining orientation to produce guidelines for policy-makers to implement strategies for technology-based services for independent living at home.
