Event background

Work, Wellbeing and Wealth: Active ageing at work, 26-28 August 2013, Helsinki, Finland
Venue: Hotel Crowne Plaza, Helsinki
This conference is organised by the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (FIOH) in cooperation with the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, Eurofound, OSHA, and a number of other organisations.
Objectives
The increasing population of retirees and the rising cost to society are forcing industrialised countries to find new ways to increase production and to extend working life.
Careers can be extended at the beginning, middle or end of the traditional working life. This involves finding solutions to improve the transitions and links between various stages of life, for instance education, labour market, unemployment, disability, private household, and old-age pension.
The programme will include sessions on:
Psychosocial factors supporting the participation in working life
Disability prevention and reintegration
Integration of young people into working life
Midlife work and old-age
Age, diversity and management of competencies for more sustainable work
Economic appraisal of active aging at work
This event will bring together researchers, experts and European networks in the area and to present and discuss the major R&D needs and solutions.
