Policies for children in the EU: Progress, challenges and policy lessons

This report provides an overview of recent EU policy developments on child poverty, housing cost overburden, and early school leaving. It also examines measures to improve access to healthcare and early childhood education and care. The report highlights examples of successful approaches and areas needing improvement, and provides deeper analysis of selected Member States to identify factors shaping policy implementation. These policy areas support key EU initiatives, including the European Education Area, the European Child Guarantee, the European Pillar of Social Rights, the Barcelona Targets for Early Childhood Education and Care, and the first EU Anti-Poverty Strategy.
