Event background

Seminar on gender equality at work, Sofia, Bulgaria, 20-21 February 2006

Background of the project

The [European Working Conditions Observatory](/search/node/ewco OR index?oldIndex) (EWCO) seminars present the Observatory’s work for discussion with selected participants who are experts on the chosen theme. See also thematic context.

The purpose

The aim of this seminar, organised together with the Observatory’s [Bulgarian correspondent](/search/node/ewco OR network?oldIndex), is to discuss EWCO work with the members of its network, EU and national authorities, social partners and practitioners. The seminar is divided into three parts, focusing on the gender pay gap, work-life balance, and gender equality. Findings from the Foundation working conditions survey, EWCO work - in particular, the topic report on work-life balance - as well as findings of the June 2005 Bulgarian National Working Conditions Survey exploring the work-life balance issue will be presented. The seminar programme is available.

Participants

By invitation only.

Facilities

The language at the conference will be English/Bulgarian (with simultaneous interpretation). A report will be made available after the meeting.
