Event background

Workshop on industrial relations, future trends and challenges of globalisation, 30 November - 1 December 2006, Berlin, Germany

Venue: EC Representation Office in Berlin

Background

This Foundation project is based on previous work on quality of industrial relations, which has produced country profiles for the EU25. This ongoing project will produce country profiles for European continental competitors and compare these different models to each other with the aim of finding European strengths and weaknesses in global competition.

Objectives

The objective of the workshop is to compare European industrial relations - actors, processes, outcomes and impact - to the Global 7 (G7) countries: Australia, Brazil, China, India, Japan, South Africa and the USA. These reports will bring added value to the project as well as a wider comparative analysis on industrial relations and their impact on competitiveness, productivity, income distribution and employment. A programme is available.

Participants

National experts from the EU Member States as well as experts from Australia, Brazil, China, India, Japan, South Africa and the USA, will participate in the workshop.
