unlimited and unconditional privatisations (GR9802155F);
sale on the stock exchange of up to 49% of the shares of public corporations playing a strategic part in the national economy, in the absence of an integrated business development plan;
merger or liquidation of public organisations or services of strategic importance for development and the national economy; and
the attempted general reform of labour relations in public corporations.
In the same resolution, the unions demanded:
a new general collective agreement (GR9804167N) which will improve workers' incomes, including a commitment to defray pay losses if the projected inflation rate is exceeded;
pay increases for workers in the public sector to offset the effects of the devaluation of the drachma (GR9803161F) on incomes;
the introduction of collective bargaining to the public sector; and
"genuine" and "honest" dialogue on the present and future situation of public corporations and banks.
