Event background
This event takes place in the context of Eurofound’s ongoing efforts with key stakeholders at the national level to ensure widespread dissemination and dialogue on our research findings.
Event overview
Minimum wages are at the centre of key economic and social debates in Europe today. In Greece, where purchasing power remains comparatively low, the need for informed dialogue and practical solutions is more important than ever.
This event will provide a timely overview of recent developments in minimum wages in Greece, set within a broader European context. It will explore key trends, including recent increases in minimum wage levels, their adequacy in relation to both average earnings and the cost of living, and ongoing disparities across EU Member States.
The discussion will also highlight recent policy developments in Greece, such as the efforts to strengthen collective bargaining cover and the challenges that remain in ensuring that minimum wages provide an adequate standard of living.
This virtual visit offers an opportunity to engage with experts, gain comparative insights from across the EU, and reflect on future directions for minimum wage policy.
This event takes place in collaboration with Eurofound’s Greek Board Members and with its national correspondent in Greece.
