'The social partners and labour market mobility in the New Member States of the European Union' , Budapest, Hungary, 11-12 June 2008

Background

The Work Life Mobility Programme (WLMP) is a co-operation project with all new EU Member States and the candidate countries, run by the Swedish Public Employment Service on behalf of the Swedish government. The aim of the project is to contribute to sustainable employment and efficient labour markets by developing knowledge and practical tools to manage work-life mobility in an optimal way.

Objectives

This conference, which will focus on the role of the social partners, is organised by the Work Life Mobility Programme, together with the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions - Eurofound.

During this conference, which is held in conjunction with the mid-term follow-up conference of the WLMP, two roundtables will be organised, each with representatives from trade unions and employment organisations:

  • 1st roundtable: outflow aspects of labour market mobility
  • 2nd roundtable: inflow aspects of labour market mobility.
