- Understanding how working time is organised and how this is impacting on balance of work versus private life is of fundamental importance. This general statement is very much in accordance with the main objective of the Europe 2020 employment strategy, stating that at least 75% of the population aged 20–64 should be employed by 2020, necessitating in many Member States a significant increase in women’s labour market participation.

- Résumé16 Feabhra 2012
Trí scrúdú a dhéanamh ar an athrú atá tagtha ar dhálaí oibre (nó ar an tslí ar fhan siad mórán mar a chéile) féadfar léargas a fháil ar an dul chun cinn atá á dhéanamh chun na cuspóirí beartais seo a chur i gcrích. Féadfaidh sé léargas a thabhairt freisin ar an tionchar atá ag príomhthionscnóirí athraithe cosúil le domhandú, forbairt theicneolaíoch, foirmeacha níos solúbtha d’eagrú oibre, aosú daonra na hEorpa, agus an méadú ar an líon teaghlach a bhfuil beirt shaothraithe iontu, ar an tslí a bhfuil daoine ag obair agus an tslí a bhfuil daoine á bhfostú. Tugann na chéad torthaí seo ón gcúigiú Suirbhé ar Dhálaí Oibre na hEorpa (EWCS) a rinne Eurofound léargas dúinn ar chuid de na ríomhathruithe atá le tabhairt faoi deara ar dhálaí oibre in imeacht na mblianta.
