Ir-rappreżentanza tal-impjegati tista 'tiġi definita bħala d-dritt tal-impjegati li jfittxu union jew individwu biex jirrappreżentahom għall-iskop ta' negozjar mal-maniġment dwar kwistjonijiet bħal pagi, sigħat, benefiċċji u kundizzjonijiet tax-xogħol. Fuq il-post tax-xogħol, il-ħaddiema jistgħu jkunu rappreżentati mit-trejdjunjins u permezz ta' kunsilli tax-xogħol – jew strutturi simili eletti mill-impjegati kollha. Il-liġi tal-UE stabbilixxiet id-drittijiet u l-obbligi għall-impjegati u r-rappreżentanti tagħhom biex jiġu infurmati u kkonsultati permezz ta' sett ta' direttivi li jipprovdu għall-informazzjoni u l-konsultazzjoni tal-ħaddiema, kemm fil-livell nazzjonali kif ukoll f'dak internazzjonali.

Previous Eurofound research developed three complementary tools to examine the dynamics of industrial relations and compare how national industrial relations systems are faring in terms of quality and change over time. These tools are a dashboard of indicators; an index to measure country performance in industrial relations as a whole, four key dimensions and subdimensions; and a typology of industrial relations systems based on performance in industrial democracy and relevant characteristics of industrial relations systems. This report builds on this previous research and has three main objectives: to revisit and update the index of each of the four key dimensions for 2018–2021 based on new data and indicators; to analyse convergence trends in the key dimension industrial democracy from 2008 to 2021 across national industrial relations systems; and to update the typology of industrial relations systems to contribute to the cross-country analysis of relevant patterns of change from 2008 to 2021, particularly in relation to collective bargaining.

The overview report of the European Working Conditions Survey 2024 ( EWCS24) provides a comprehensive description of the workforce, and includes information on digital work practices, social relations at work and inclusive workplaces. It evaluates job quality across seven dimensions: earnings, prospects, skills and discretion, working time, work intensity, social environment and physical environment. The report looks at workers’ working lives, considering aspects such as r work–life balance, career and employment security, health and well-being and sustainability. It describes how jobs fare on the basis of job quality and the role of job quality in supporting good working lives.
Now in its eighth edition, EWCS24 maps changes in working life over more than three decades. This high-quality survey covers 34 European countries, including the 27 EU Member States, Norway, Switzerland and six candidate and potential candidate countries : Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Kosovo and Serbia. Over 35,000 interviews, each lasting approximately 45 minutes, took place as part of the survey.

Senior research managerChristine Aumayr-Pintar hija maniġer anzjan tar-riċerka fl-unità tal-Ħajja tax-Xogħol fil-Eurofound. Hija tikkoordina r-riċerka tal-Eurofound dwar id-djalogu soċjali u r-relazzjonijiet industrijali u tissorvelja n-Netwerk tal-Korrispondenti tal-Eurofound (NEC). L-għarfien espert primarju tagħha fir-riċerka – avviċinat minn perspettiva komparattiva madwar l-UE – jiffoka fuq il-pagi minimi, il-paga nnegozjata b'mod kollettiv u t-trasparenza tal-pagi bejn is-sessi. Qabel ma ngħaqdet mal-Eurofound fl-2009, hija kienet riċerkatriċi tas-swieq tax-xogħol u tal-ekonomija reġjonali f'Joanneum Research fl-Awstrija. Hija kisbet Master's degree fl-Ekonomija u PhD fix-Xjenza Soċjali/Ekonomija wara li studjat l-ekonomija fi Graz, Vjenna u Jönköping.

Senior research managerGijs van Houten huwa maniġer anzjan tar-riċerka fl-unità tal-Impjiegi fil-Eurofound. Huwa għandu għarfien espert speċifiku fil-metodoloġija tal-istħarriġ transnazzjonali u l-analiżi tal-prattiki fuq il-post tax-xogħol u l-istrateġiji organizzattivi. Huwa jmexxi t-task force tal-Eurofound dwar il-ġbir tad-dejta u huwa responsabbli għat-tfassil u l-metodoloġija tal-Istħarriġ Ewropew dwar il-Kundizzjonijiet tax-Xogħol 2024, li se jkun pass ewlieni fl-istħarriġ futur fil-Eurofound. Qabel ma ngħaqad mal-Eurofound fl-2010, huwa ħadem fl-Istitut Olandiż għar-Riċerka Soċjali (SCP). Gijs qatta 'sena 'l bogħod fl-2016, jaħdem fiċ-Ċentru ta' Riċerka Pew f'Washington, DC.
