Sustainability in coastal zones: the human element in social, economic and environmental aspects

Prepared within the scope of the Foundation's programme on Sustainability in Rural and Coastal Areas, this paper examines the implications of sustainability in the coastal areas, with particular emphasis on the Mediterranean Basin. This paper is one of four thematic exploratory studies, the final synthesis of which will contribute to the development of the future programme work of the Foundation in this field.
