  • Le imprese con un forte dialogo sociale sul posto di lavoro ottengono risultati migliori in termini di prestazioni e benessere. I posti di lavoro caratterizzati da un dialogo sociale coinvolgente, influente e che ispira fiducia hanno anche maggiori probabilità di avere una partecipazione regolare e diretta dei lavoratori, che fa la differenza sul campo.

La presente relazione si basa sulla quarta edizione dell’indagine sulle imprese europee, condotta congiuntamente da Eurofound e Cedefop nel 2019. Descrive un’ampia gamma di pratiche e strategie attuate dalle imprese europee in termini di organizzazione del lavoro, gestione delle risorse umane, utilizzo e sviluppo delle competenze e rappresentanza dei lavoratori. La relazione illustra in che modo sono combinate tali pratiche e come i «pacchetti di pratiche» che ne derivano sono associati a due risultati vantaggiosi per i lavoratori e i datori di lavoro: benessere sul posto di lavoro e prestazioni dell’azienda.

Dall’analisi emerge che le aziende che più probabilmente genereranno questo risultato vantaggioso per tutti sono quelle che combinano un elevato grado di autonomia dei lavoratori, una strategia motivazionale equilibrata, una strategia globale di formazione e apprendimento e livelli elevati di coinvolgimento diretto dei lavoratori nel processo decisionale, oltre a offrire sostegno manageriale a tali pratiche. Per promuovere l’adozione di pratiche orientate ai lavoratori, in particolare per quanto riguarda l’autonomia, le competenze e il coinvolgimento dei lavoratori, i dirigenti dovrebbero ricevere un sostegno adeguato, in quanto svolgono un ruolo chiave nella decisione di avviare un cambiamento sul posto di lavoro. Sono inoltre fondamentali per il suo successo, in quanto devono continuare a sostenere le pratiche sul posto di lavoro messe in atto.

    Customised reports

    To show appreciation for the time the ECS 2019 management respondents invested in filling out the questionnaire, Eurofound and Cedefop offered to generate a customised report for their establishment.

    The reports are generated automatically, and compare the establishment with other establishments in the same country, size category and sector. They include information on market characteristics, product market strategy, innovation, establishment performance, workplace relations, and human resources challenges.

    Over 13,000 respondents requested to receive such a customised report. Upon finalisation of the dataset the at the end of 2019, the reports were generated, and they were distributed to respondents in the beginning of 2020.

This report presents the results of research conducted largely prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Europe in February 2020. For this reason, the results do not fully take account of the outbreak.

    Eurofound’s European Company Survey (ECS) maps and analyses company policies and practices which can have an impact on smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, as well as the development of social dialogue in companies. This series consists of outputs from the ECS 2019, the fourth edition of the survey. The survey was first carried out in 2004–2005 as the European Survey on Working Time and Work-Life Balance. 

  • European Company Surveys

    The European Company Survey (ECS) is carried out every four to five years since its inception in 2004–2005, with the latest edition in 2019. The survey is designed to provide information on workplace practices to develop and evaluate socioeconomic policy in the EU. It covers issues around work organisation, working time arrangements and work–life balance, flexibility, workplace innovation, employee involvement, human resource management, social dialogue, and most recently also skills use, skills strategies and digitalisation.
