Quality of work and employment: a policy tool towards an inclusive and sustainable growth

Joint Conference of the European Parliament and Eurofound with the participation of Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament, and with the support of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists & Democrats

The latest conclusions of the EPSCO Council meeting on 'the Annual Growth Survey and Joint Employment Report – Priorities for action in the areas of employment and social policies in 2012' emphasises the importance of a return to economic growth 'with more and better jobs, including good working conditions'.

With this in mind, the conference will address the current policy challenges linked to the issue of quality of work and employment. It will examine how changes in employment and work related policies could impact on the quality of societal and economic progress and how mainstreaming the quality of work and employment dimension into other European policy agendas could also contribute to the ultimate perspective of more 'sustainable and inclusive work'.
