Event background

Based on Eurofound’s research which has mapped housing problems in the EU and policies to address them, Eurofound’s expert Hans Dubois provided a lively presentation with new data and findings, followed by an exchange of ideas and insights with participants.

Unaffordable housing leads to homelessness, housing insecurity, financial strain and inadequate housing. It also delays and prevents young people from leaving their family home. These issues affect people’s health and well-being, create unequal living conditions and opportunities, and result in healthcare costs, reduced productivity, and environmental damage.

The off-the-record briefing is a chance for up to 30 participants to access Eurofound’s expert in an informal setting. It is also an important way for Eurofound to share plans for upcoming research and to hear from stakeholders about their issues of concern related to housing. We hope it will be a useful networking opportunity for those working in the areas of social affairs, living and working conditions and employment.
