Abstract

Advances in information and communications technology (ICT) have opened the door to new ways of organising work, from a regular, bureaucratic and ‘factory-based’ working time pattern towards a more flexible model of work. Telework and ICT-based mobile work (TICTM) gives possibilities to workers and employers to adapting the work process to their needs. However, there are risks for the deterioration of the work-life balance and workers’ health, largely a consequence of intensification of work, long and irregular working time and the porosity between work and private life.
