How is climate change impacting Europeans and how prepared are they? A new snapshot of Europe’s climate resilience reveals that most Europeans have already been directly affected by extreme weather and are highly concerned about future climate impacts, yet their preparedness remains limited.
A joint report by the European Environment Agency (EEA) and Eurofound, to be published on 4 February 2026, explores Europeans’ experience of climate-related impacts, concern about future impacts, and resilience actions taken by households and local authorities.
It highlights how climate resilience varies across regions and demographic groups, including populations that are particularly vulnerable. Importantly, the report provides the first Europe-wide overview of implemented climate resilience measures – both at the household and local authority level.
The report draws on data collected from the 2025 Eurofound Living and Working in the EU e-survey, which included over 27,000 respondents across EU-27 countries.

Research officerMichele Consolini dirba EUROFOUND Socialinės politikos skyriaus mokslinių tyrimų pareigūne. Jis teikia kiekybinę patirtį keliais klausimais, įskaitant socialinę sanglaudą ir pasitikėjimą, klimato kaitą ir gyvenimo kokybę, konvergenciją ir apklausų valdymą. Dabartiniuose jo tyrimuose nagrinėjamas poliarizacijos vaidmuo socialinei sanglaudai ir pasitikėjimui bei socialiniai ir ekonominiai iššūkiai, susiję su perėjimu prie anglies dioksido neišskiriančios ekonomikos. Jis yra įgijęs sociologijos ir ekonomikos bakalauro laipsnį Alma Mater Studiorum Bolonijoje, Italijoje, ir Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen, Nyderlanduose. Amsterdamo universitete jis baigė politinės komunikacijos magistro studijas, kur taip pat dirbo dėstytoju ir tyrėju politinės psichologijos srityje.
