Their relative representativeness legitimises their right to be consulted and their capacity to negotiate agreements. The aim of Eurofound’s studies on representativeness is to identify the relevant national and European social partner organisations in the sector.

Kohtuuhintaisten ja asianmukaisten asuntojen saatavuus on suuri huolenaihe monissa jäsenvaltioissa niiden kaupungeissa ja alueilla, ja viime vuosien kriisit ovat pahentaneet sitä. Ihmiset, joilla on asumisen kohtuuhintaisuusongelmia, ovat vaarassa syrjäytyä, epävarmuutta joutua jättämään kotinsa, heillä ei ole varaa muihin asioihin korkeiden asumiskustannusten vuoksi ja heidän on pysyttävä heidän tarpeisiinsa sopimattomassa asunnossa. Elinkustannusten noustessa pienituloiset perheet altistuvat energiaköyhyydelle, joilla ei ole varaa pitää kotiaan riittävän lämpimänä tai maksaa vuokraa tai asuntolainaa.
