How is climate change impacting Europeans and how prepared are they? A new snapshot of Europe’s climate resilience reveals that most Europeans have already been directly affected by extreme weather and are highly concerned about future climate impacts, yet their preparedness remains limited.
A joint report by the European Environment Agency (EEA) and Eurofound, to be published on 4 February 2026, explores Europeans’ experience of climate-related impacts, concern about future impacts, and resilience actions taken by households and local authorities.
It highlights how climate resilience varies across regions and demographic groups, including populations that are particularly vulnerable. Importantly, the report provides the first Europe-wide overview of implemented climate resilience measures – both at the household and local authority level.
The report draws on data collected from the 2025 Eurofound Living and Working in the EU e-survey, which included over 27,000 respondents across EU-27 countries.

Research officerMichele Consolini pracuje jako výzkumná pracovnice v oddělení pro sociální politiky nadace Eurofound. Poskytuje kvantitativní odborné znalosti v několika otázkách, včetně sociální soudržnosti a důvěry, změny klimatu a kvality života, konvergence a řízení průzkumů. Jeho současný výzkum se zabývá úlohou polarizace na sociální soudržnost a důvěru a socioekonomickými výzvami přechodu na uhlíkově neutrální ekonomiku. Je držitelem bakalářského titulu v oboru sociologie a ekonomie z Alma Mater Studiorum v italské Bologni a z Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen v Nizozemsku. Získal výzkumný titul MSc v oboru politické komunikace na univerzitě v Amsterdamu, kde také pracoval jako asistent pedagoga a výzkumný pracovník v oblasti politické psychologie.
