Event background

Eurofound experts Christine Aumayr Pintar and Carlos Vacas delivered a lively presentation followed by an exchange of ideas and insights on the future policy agenda in this area. The in-person briefing is by invitation only and runs from 14.00 to 16.00, followed by a networking reception.

Eurofound has carried out extensive work on minimum wages over the years, with latest research revealing how Member States are successfully using the minimum wage as a policy tool to address rising inflation, highlighting how the new Directive already seems to be creating early impact. Other research on minimum wages in collective agreements for low-paid workers and a new EU-wide database of minimum pay rates in collective agreements, also highlight missed opportunities, with first results showing how the potential of collective agreements to regulate pay in some countries is not always reached.

This off-the-record briefing is a chance for a small group of up to 30 participants to access experts in an informal setting. It facilitates an exchange and provides a networking opportunity for those working in areas linked to employment, industrial relations, social affairs and working conditions.
