How is climate change impacting Europeans and how prepared are they? A new snapshot of Europe’s climate resilience reveals that most Europeans have already been directly affected by extreme weather and are highly concerned about future climate impacts, yet their preparedness remains limited.

This joint report by the European Environment Agency (EEA) and Eurofound, published on 4 February 2026, explores Europeans’ experience of climate-related impacts, concern about future impacts, and resilience actions taken by households and local authorities.

It highlights how climate resilience varies across regions and demographic groups, including populations that are particularly vulnerable. Importantly, the report provides the first Europe-wide overview of implemented climate resilience measures – both at the household and local authority level.

The report draws on data collected from the 2025 Eurofound Living and Working in the EU e-survey, which included over 27,000 respondents across EU-27 countries.

Michele Consolini je zaposlen kot raziskovalec v enoti za socialno politiko pri Eurofoundu. Zagotavlja kvantitativno strokovno znanje o več vprašanjih, vključno s socialno kohezijo in zaupanjem, podnebnimi spremembami in kakovostjo življenja, konvergenco in upravljanjem raziskav. Njegova trenutna raziskava obravnava vlogo polarizacije na socialno kohezijo in zaupanje ter socialno-ekonomske izzive prehoda na ogljično nevtralno gospodarstvo. Diplomiral je iz sociologije in ekonomije na Alma Mater Studiorum v Bologni v Italiji in na Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen na Nizozemskem. Magistriral je iz političnega komuniciranja na Univerzi v Amsterdamu, kjer je delal tudi kot asistent in raziskovalec na področju politične psihologije.
