Reaching out to the national level
This initiative took place in the context of Eurofound’s ongoing efforts to reach out to the national level and ensure widespread dissemination and dialogue with respect to its research findings.
As economies recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, labour shortages are becoming increasingly evident. These include shortages exacerbated by the crisis, as well as those in sectors and occupations where they had been endemic for some time.
Eurofound has carried out extensive research in the area of labour shortages. This Virtual Visit looked at the drivers of the labour shortages and explored how measures to tackle them can be tailored to address different drivers in the short, medium and long-term. It also assessed what measures are effective, drawing on examples from different countries and organisations and explored the contextual factors supporting or hindering effective policy implementation.
Speakers
Eurofound Executive Director Ivailo Kalfin opened the event and contextualised the topic within Eurofound’s work programme, followed by short presentations from our experts Tina Weber, Research Manager and Dragoș Adăscăliței, Research Officer. Participants joined the discussion with Mary McCaughey, Head of Unit, Information and Communication moderating the event.
This event took place in collaboration with Eurofound’s Cypriot Board Members and with its correspondent in Cyprus.
