Ivailo Kalfin
Ivailo Kalfin trad op 1 juni 2021 in dienst bij Eurofound als uitvoerend directeur. De expertise van de heer Kalfin bestrijkt een scala aan gebieden, van de dynamiek van de arbeidsmarkt en het sociaal beleid tot wereldwijde politieke trends, de EU en de begroting, evenals de digitale transformatie. Hij heeft vijf hoofdprioriteiten voor zijn rol bij Eurofound geschetst: ondersteuning van de mainstreaming van de groene en digitale transitie in Europa; de uitvoering van het actieplan voor de Europese pijler van sociale rechten aan te vullen met empirisch onderbouwd onderzoek; intensievere samenwerking met internationale organisaties en externe partners en een groter bereik naar de landen van het Europees nabuurschapsbeleid; steun voor het vergroten en uitbreiden van de capaciteit van de sociale partners binnen de bevoegdheden van het Agentschap; het profiel van Eurofound bij de belangrijkste belanghebbenden vergroten.

2022 in review
The dawn of 2022 brought muted optimism to a Europe beginning to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, and the progress of vaccination programmes worldwide brought hope. Government and EU support during the pandemic had kept unemployment at bay, averting the widescale collapse of businesses. In step with the EU’s plans for the year, Eurofound’s focus was firmly on a post-pandemic Europe: the recovery and the twin transition to a green and digital economy. All this changed with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the start of a war of aggression. The EU and its institutions were compelled to respond rapidly.

Europe Day: Europe’s future hangs in the balance
Today is Europe Day, and one hundred young people from Ireland and Ukraine will be marking the event at Eurofound, in peaceful south Dublin. Europe Day has traditionally been seen as a celebration of peace and unity in Europe, but, unfortunately, it must be marked differently this year. Europe Day 2022 must rather reaffirm the values of Europe: human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, rule of law and human rights. These values are now being tested daily and must be rigorously defended for the future of Europe and the future of our young people.

Maria Jepsen
Deputy DirectorEurofound
Maria Jepsen is adjunct-directeur van Eurofound en werd op 1 november 2019 benoemd. Zij coördineert de programma-ontwikkeling van het Agentschap. Daarvoor was ze directeur van de onderzoeksafdeling van het Europees Vakbondsinstituut (ETUI) en assistent-professor en research fellow aan de Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). Momenteel is ze ook universitair hoofddocent arbeidseconomie aan de ULB en extern docent aan het Europacollege in Brugge, België. Haar belangrijkste onderzoeksinteresses zijn onder meer genderstudies, de impact van verzorgingsstaten op arbeidsaanbod, lonen en arbeidsomstandigheden, en de ontwikkeling van de Europese sociale dimensie. Mevrouw Jepsen is lid geweest van verschillende commissies, raden en adviesraden op nationaal en internationaal niveau op het gebied van werkgelegenheid, sociale zaken, gender en onderzoek. Ze was ook coördinator van het tripartiete raadgevend comité van de Europese Commissie voor gezondheid en veiligheid op het werk. Ze behaalde een doctoraat in de economie en een master in econometrie aan de Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB).

Anna Ludwinek
Liaison Manager - Brussels Liaison OfficeEurofound
Anna Ludwinek is verbindingsmanager bij het verbindingsbureau van Eurofound in Brussel, waar ze in 2019 in dienst trad. Haar verantwoordelijkheden richten zich voornamelijk op het coördineren van de werkzaamheden van het kantoor in Brussel, inclusief de relatie met de Europese Commissie, het Europees Parlement, de Raad en denktanks. Daarvoor was Anna onderzoeksmanager bij de eenheid Sociaal Beleid en verantwoordelijk voor werk op het gebied van intergenerationele sociale mobiliteit en gelijke kansen, ongelijkheden onder jongeren en toegang tot sociale uitkeringen. Eerder werkte ze bij Eurofound onder meer over het beheer van een Europees netwerk van steden voor lokaal integratiebeleid (CLIP), waar ze werkte aan kwesties rond diversiteit, huisvesting, intercultureel beleid en etnisch ondernemerschap. Andere onderzoeksgebieden waren de re-integratie van langdurig uitgesloten groepen op de arbeidsmarkt en de impact van digitalisering op sociale diensten. Anna heeft een MA in Politieke Wetenschappen van de Universiteit van Warschau en een BA in Internationale Betrekkingen en MA in Sociaal Toegepast Onderzoek van Trinity College Dublin.
Robbie Stakelum
Brussels Liaison OfficerEurofound
Robbie Stakelum is de Brusselse verbindingsfunctionaris en verantwoordelijk voor het Europees Economisch en Sociaal Comité, de sociale partners en de Europese Commissie. Sinds 2014 werkt hij in Brussel met een focus op sociaal en werkgelegenheidsbeleid.
