How is climate change impacting Europeans and how prepared are they? A new snapshot of Europe’s climate resilience reveals that most Europeans have already been directly affected by extreme weather and are highly concerned about future climate impacts, yet their preparedness remains limited.
A joint report by the European Environment Agency (EEA) and Eurofound, to be published on 4 February 2026, explores Europeans’ experience of climate-related impacts, concern about future impacts, and resilience actions taken by households and local authorities.
It highlights how climate resilience varies across regions and demographic groups, including populations that are particularly vulnerable. Importantly, the report provides the first Europe-wide overview of implemented climate resilience measures – both at the household and local authority level.
The report draws on data collected from the 2025 Eurofound Living and Working in the EU e-survey, which included over 27,000 respondents across EU-27 countries.

Michele Consolini
Research officerMichele Consolini lucrează ca ofițer de cercetare în cadrul unității de politici sociale din cadrul Eurofound. El oferă expertiză cantitativă în mai multe aspecte, inclusiv coeziunea socială și încrederea, schimbările climatice și calitatea vieții, convergența și managementul sondajelor. Cercetările sale actuale analizează rolul polarizării asupra coeziunii sociale și a încrederii și provocările socioeconomice ale tranziției către o economie neutră din punct de vedere al emisiilor de carbon. Deține o diplomă de licență în sociologie și economie de la Alma Mater Studiorum din Bologna, Italia, și de la Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen, Olanda. A absolvit un masterat de cercetare în comunicare politică de la Universitatea din Amsterdam, unde a lucrat și ca asistent didactic și cercetător în domeniul psihologiei politice.
